Food & Drink Expo
From 16-18th April, the doors opened to the NEC, Birmingham for the UK Food Shows. Food & Drink Expo ran alongside Foodex, Farm Shop & Deli Show, National Convenience Show and The Ingredients Show and altogether attracted buyers and decision makers from across the whole industry.
Food & Drink Expo welcomed over 22,000 visitors and hundreds of exhibitors across the 3 days & hosted live seminars and debates including topics such as; ‘Building the future around customers’ with business expert Kate Hardcastle, ‘Full of beans’ interactive coffee tasting with Elliot Wallis from Monkshood Coffee and ‘Waste Not, Want Not’, which saw leading representatives from the academic world, retail and broadcast media, discuss waste reduction, sustainability and the impact on business and society.
One of the highlights of this year’s shows was the Great New Idea competition, designed to provide a platform for both fledgling and established business owners to showcase the most insightful and meaningful innovations in the industry from the last twelve months. On Monday 16th, the winners were announced, this year they included; Belvoir Fruit Farms Ltd with their Botanical Juniper & Tonic and Snowshock Slush with their Frappino Iced Coffee dispenser.
The combined weight of these five shows this year brought together 1,500 suppliers representing a huge array of companies and technologies within the UK’s food and drink industry- next Food & Drink Expo 2020!
Organisers of the UK Food Shows, William Reed, will be hosting the renowned The Restaurant Show in just 5 months’ time, 1-3 October at Olympia. Now entering 30 years of bringing together the hospitality industry, The Restaurant Show is a unique trade event that caters to those owning, operating and working in coffee houses, restaurants, hotels, pubs, bars and hospitality establishments across the UK.
