Exciting news – Ozone and Hasbean partner - two great brands join together to strengthen their offerings

It’s been an exciting month for Stafford-based coffee roasters Hasbean. They’ve just announced an agreement with Ozone Coffee Roasters International to merge the two companies – strengthening both offerings.

Steve Leighton, Hasbean founder, spoke to Boughton’s Coffee House about the fantastic opportunity and what the future holds. He explained that with the backing of Ozone and the additional personnel, business and financial resources, it would enable him to transform ideas into reality. Relationships with producers and wholesalers will be strengthened and there are exciting opportunities for wholesale and hospitality, as well as training and support services.

Steve is very much looking forward to collaborating with Ozone and sees a clear synergy between the two companies. Like Hasbean, Ozone is a family-orientated business where the husband and wife team of James and Lizzie Gurr will be working closely with the Hasbean team, which includes Steve’s sister as well as his close friend Dale Harris. And Steve is keen to stress that at Hasbean, they’re not just colleagues, they are all friends too.

The acquisition also means that Steve will be able to make Dale and Chris Glover-Price shareholders of the business which was not previously possible. He emphasises that nothing will change and the team at Hasbean are secure, and their positions, if anything, will be strengthened. During the transition period both companies will also retain their existing branding.

As for the future, Steve is remaining tight-lipped but is excited for Caffè Culture 2018 in October where he is speaking, and also a panel member of the Boughton’s Coffee House Pop-up, offering advice and insight to the show’s attendees. We’re excited to hear more about this fantastic partnership.
